What are our babies eating at this stage? Aislin is doing pretty well feeding herself, and she really likes finger foods. I am running out of good ideas though. I admit I am not very creative when it comes to the kitchen. Does anyone want to share a typical day's meal with me? Bonus points for anything spicy -- Aislin looooves spicy food!

Is anyone else's baby transitioning from two naps a day to one? Since we got back from vacation, Aislin only wants to take one nap a day. But since she can't make it until noon, she usually falls asleep and sleeps from 10 - noon. Then she wants to skip the afternoon nap altogether and is insanely over-tired by 7:00 (her usual bedtime). Then, because she passed out into a deep sleep the second her head hit the mattress at 7:00, she's waking up at 5:30am.

Help? Anyone? Even some sympathy would be nice.

Also, she's getting two eye-teeth in right now -- one on top and one on the bottom. I am sure this isn't helping her crankiness.

We bought Caleb his first pairs of shoes.

and both of them match Chris's (he bought himself some converse too and his vans look very similar to those.).

Now he can be just like daddy!

He's getting 2 more teeth in and he didnt really eat anything today but whined and wanted to sleep. When we put him to sleep he whined there. Poor thing. When those come in he will have 6 teeth!

He fell over today and took a face plant into the kitchen floor (he was crawling) and it looks like his chin is going to be bruised. He just didn't have a very good day.

Happy Birthday to all of you beautiful July babies!!!

Now that July is coming to an end I figured I better hurry and post Skyler's 1st birthday photos. Being that her birthday was at the start of the month and we are towards the end. Time is a precious thing that keeps ticking faster by the day with a busy crawling/semi walking little one.

My 3pound 4ounce preemie is now a 18pound beaming beautiful 1 year old.

*Loads of photos under the cut*

For those of you who started giving your baby whole milk after one year, how did you get her to drink it? The Niblet will drink water or expressed breastmilk from a sippy cup but she spits out the whole milk! I even warmed it up. She never would drink formula either.

So....advice? Is there something obvious I'm missing here?

We came home today :)

They finally figured out what's wrong with me too. I have a heart murmur and I'm not filling my lungs up all the way when I breathe. I feel pretty good but still some pain. Yay narcotics! I will update more later. Caleb's first birthday is tomorrow!

What possesses someone to come over to someone's house and while they're here, play a hand drum while the host's child is asleep? With as much trouble as we've been having with getting Caleb to sleep at night or take naps, this really bothers me. My boyfriend will just get mad if I say something because it's never woken Caleb up before but he's refusing naps and going to bed at night and I'd rather not risk it. Maybe it's my hormones and everything because I'm pregnant but blah!

We are about two months away from our babies' first birthdays!! Have any of you thought about first birthday parties? I wasn't going to make a big deal of it since our families are all out of town, but so many of my friends (even the child-free) have been asking, so I suppose a party we shall have.

We are about a mile from the beach so I thought about a beach barbecue. That way, if the adults want to stay up partying they can and I can take Aislin home for bedtime if it goes that late.

Has anyone else been thinking about this?
