Hi Everyone! It sure has been quiet around here. I guess everyone is as busy as I am with our 3.5-year-olds! I am now expecting daughter #2 in June of this year. As a younger sibling myself, I vowed I would not let the younger one get shafted. But, it's happening already!

My first born got a lovely room all of her own, we painted, bought a crib and matching changing table. My second --- gets a pack n'play in the corner of the dining room.

My first born we thought about her name for MONTHS. My second -- we've talked about it twice, haven't really come up with anything and keeping saying "Oh, we have time."

My first born I had pregnancy pictures every month or more. With my second -- pictures?

Anyone else have more than one and experiencing this phenomenon?

My daughter's third birthday is this weekend. I am torn over the goody bag issue. On the one hand, I think it's rather pointless. On the other hand, everyone else has them at their parties and we've come home with some really nice stuff. So I feel obligated to have them for the kids to take home. My daughter and her guests are mostly three-year-olds. They don't really seem to get upset because the Birthday Girl is getting something and they are not. Maybe they get that later?

Am I being too counter-culture for my own good?

Hello Ladies!

I noticed that all over LJ there are often a lot questions asked about advice regarding baby products.  I have always felt that we all need to  pool our collective experience somewhere, so that other moms and moms-to-be have a great place to go to find out what products are recommended by everyday moms.

My forum The Wise Mommy Forums is dedicated to discussing baby products and what we as moms find useful and what we find not worth buying.  The more voices we have, the better the information is that we can get out there to other moms.  I need your help in making this successful!  The forum was offically launched 2 nights ago, so you ladies would have the opportunity to become the first members of this forum and let your opinions or questions be heard.  We will not only have a place for product reviews, but also a general chat among moms and moms-to-be, a place to advertise anything you may want to sell (momtrepreneurs welcome!), and also a place for coupons and codes.  We often get coupon codes for our site because we are an official reviewer of baby products.

On another note, I also run the associated website The Wise Mommy, where we review items 5-7 times a week and have up-to-date recall alerts (which are overflowing lately!).

Thank you for your time!  I hope to see you all there!

Your Mod,
Cimmerayn

Hi ladies!  Things have sure been quiet around here, I guess we are all busy with our 2 year olds!  Anyway, I had my second son in March of this year.  It is so different taking care of two little ones rather than just one.  I have also been keeping busy with a new website I have been working on *shameless plug coming...* The Wise Mommy.  I review items that I have found useful and helpful during the past two years since having my son.  There's also hourly updates of recall news - which is especially helpful as there have been so many recalls of baby products in the news lately.  I am hoping to grow a community out of it, so that us parents can share in our parenting experiences and tell others about those products that we like.  I am also starting a forum on there and encourage you to join if you'd like to chat about all the stuff that's out there for our kids - you'd be the first ones on there since I just started the forums.  Anyway, I am very excited about it!  Hope to hear from you all, either in here or at The Wise Mommy.  Let me know how things have been going in your neck of the woods!

I know our babies are all 19 months now, but I got a kick out of this article. I can't remember either what it was like to have her kicking inside me, can you?

Do you ever have those days when your toddler just won't eat anything?

I need recipes! My daughter is 17 months old and I am on a never-ending quest to find a vegetable she will eat. You know how toddlers are. One day they eat every scrap of carrots and peas in the house, the next day it's YUCKY.

Any brilliant ideas?

Hi --

The community sure has been quiet lately. Is everyone super busy running around after their mobile 16-month-olds? What are the kids doing nowdays that's cute and amazing? Walking? Talking? Climbing? Signing? Sleeping?

The Niblet is picking up new words every day. It really is amazing to watch how fast she learns everything. She still wakes up at least once a night, but I think that's a bad habit I've created by bringing her into bed with us. Sooner or later, I'll have to get her used to sleeping the night in her own bed. I tell myself I'll do it when she weans. Age two, maybe?

I am thinking about potty training, too. Anyone embarked on THAT adventure yet? I wasn't going to bother until she was 18 months but she's started telling me BEFORE she poops in the last couple days. So we may be purchasing a potty chair in the near future.

Caleb is almost 15 months old and we went to the doctor yesterday. She is referring him to a physical therapy place so that they can try to get him walking. He's so lazy he hasn't really tried on his own. He will walk if you hold his hands but other than that he isn't interested. We also have to watch his vocabulary because he still only says mama and dada and babbles. I know there's nothing really wrong with him I just dont think he's trying very hard. It still worries me, as it would anyone would about their child. Hopefully they will get him to start walking and he will gain the confidence to do more things on his own. I think he might be anemic also so I am going to get some vitamins and see if that improves how easily he gets cold. I get cold too so I'm not too worried but I probably need to take vitamins too :P

Caleb's stats:
19.6 lbs
29.5 inches
